Please let me say hello first. My name is Ms Rosemary Price, I am President of The Association of Professional Psychics. What sets these people apart from all the rest?

Right now the law states that anyone can advertise and offer their services as
a psychic, clairvoyant, medium or fortune teller. In my humble opinion this is
wrong but there again you can hire a builder to come and build you a house
and he would probably not be qualified. But two rights do not make a wrong.
My opinion about this is that everyone who wishes to work for others should
be properly qualified by having taken tests to prove they give good readings
and if they refuse to take the tests or fail them they are not good enough. If a
client only wants something vague and for entertainment purposes such as a
character analysis then it does not matter too much.

But when the client is asking the reader to work out solutions to problems or asking for help with making a gigantic decision then it becomes a lot more serious and important and accuracy is very important. In order to try to rectify this the law is that the premium rate lines have to make it clear that they are for entertainment purposes only. They also tell their staff that they are not allowed to make firm predictions, nor go into serious things like legal, health or money. Which does not leave much. But I am also a great believer in that saying "if you pay peanuts you get monkeys" and when you are only paying £1.53 or less per minute you will not get anyone who is popular, experienced, qualified or serious about it. You will get the ones who refuse to be tested so that they can pass exams and become qualified and get a proper job at proper rates or the ones who took those tests and failed them. Remember too that these companies hire these women telling them they must take sex calls and "psychic" calls. A proper psychic would refuse that. And a proper reader who is busy would not be interested in sitting by a phone for hours hoping it rings, especially during unsocial hours like evenings, nights and weekends, which they are expected to do. Many of them sit there for twelve hours and are lucky if they end up with just ten pounds in total. The premium rate numbers are a last resort for those who cannot set up their own business and are not good enough to get a proper job with proper wages. A bad reading or one that gets all the "facts" wrong is no good to you and makes things worse, so even if it is totally free of charge it is not worth having.
